UAE's Edge Group Unveils Air Truck UAV Helicopter

According to Mohamed Abdulla Ali Alnuaimi, the Chief Programme Officer at EDGE, Air Truck is a type of drone that is unique because it can take off and land from various locations, including deserts and sea platforms, without requiring any runways or platforms. The larger version of the Air Truck helicopter is equipped with two counter-rotating three-blade rotors that are 42 feet in diameter and positioned just above the cargo bay. This design helps to resolve issues with the center of gravity. The rotors allow for a small footprint, with the minimum size required for an unprepared landing zone being 33 x 33 yards. However, the Air Truck can also take off from a prepared ship flight deck as small as 16 x 16 yards. The helicopter is 25 feet long without blades, and it has a height of 13 feet.
