The perfect weather continues. Today we depart from Oban, head west across Loch Linnhe, then fly a clockwise circuit along the south coast of the Isle of Mull until we reach the Isle of Iona, with its iconic abbey being the birthplace of Chistianity in Scotland.

Overhead Iona I debate with myself whether to undertake the northerly water crossing to Staffa, with the world-famous Fingal's Cave; and decide to go for it. I recognise some will think this foolish. From Staffa we route north to Gometra and Ulva, then cross Loch Frisa on Mull before passing Tobermory with its brightly painted houses.

Finally we cross the Sound of Mull to overfly Ardnamurchan, the most westerly part of the British mainland, before routing south over Lochs Sunart and Teacuis then the empty and magical land of Morvern before crossing the Sound of Mull once more to land at wonderful Glenforsa.
