Black History Month Celebration at the History Center - Throughout the month we are highlighting Black History exhibit spaces and sharing our rich local history. In this photo Students of Garfield High School gather outside to greet Olympic Gold Medalist, Greg Bell on his homecoming from the 1956 Olympic Games.
Bell first competed in Track & Field at Garfield High where he graduated in 1948. Later he enrolled at Indiana University where he pursued a career in Dentistry, but continued to compete undefeated in the long jump.
