The much-hyped 5T School Transformation Project in Odisha has now come under serious allegations of corruption worth ₹90 crore, as per a CAG audit report.

Launched in 2021 with promises of smart classrooms, internet connectivity, and infrastructure upgrades across 8700 schools, the project is now alleged to have been misused under the watch of senior officials, including V.K. Pandian.

Reports suggest irregularities such as:
Bills cleared without actual work completion
Procurement of desks, blackboards, and infrastructure at inflated prices
Funds are transferred to third-party agencies without transparency

The alleged scam has raised serious political questions. While BJD leaders earlier showcased 5T as a model reform, opposition leaders are now demanding strict action.

With a new government in power, the big question remains: Will the BJP government order a probe into the 5T corruption scandal?
