In this video I try to tape mod my first mechanical keyboard (also called Tempest Mod), and I think it turned out pretty good!

My results were nothing out of the ordinary: after covering the back of my PCB with 2-3 layers of masking tape, I found that the sound profile of my normally quite mushy keyboard became a bit sharper in the transients and higher in pitch, some might call it thock.

The total time it took me (including (dis)assembly) was a little over an hour. worth it for sure!

Keyboard build:
White GK61XS kit
Gateron Yellows, lubed w/ Krytox 205g0
Durock plate mount stabs, lubed w/ 205g0
Cheap PBT OEM keycaps that are to be replaced sometime
Foam mod
Tape mod
