Anukriti, a cultural organization of Kanpur, has been consistently working for the development of Folk and Cultural activities for the last 35 years in Kanpur. Anukriti has staged many dramas, some of them are Ramlila, Bakri, Baaje Dhindora Urf Khoon ka Rang, Moteram ka Satyagrah, (all based on the traditional folk drama style of UP “Nautanki”), Ek Aur Dronacharya, Rangnath Ki Vaapsi, Mukhayamantri, Das Din Ka Ansan, Tajmahal Ka Tender, Praja Hi Rehne Do, Jaanch Padtal, Purush, Gagan Damama Bajyo, Ek Sapney Ki Maut, Ek Mamuli Aadmi, Terrorist ki Premika, etc. In more than 80 cities of the countries including Kolkata, Shimla, Kullu, Dehradun, Patna, Udaipur, Nainital, Ujjain, Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Mumbai, Bhopal, Bhuvaneshvar, Raipur, Lucknow etc. With the support of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India, Zonal Cultural Centers, State Sangeet Natak Academies, State Cultural Departments, Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi. The presentation of all these dramas has been very successful and has been applauded by the public at large. There have been more than 200 such presentations.
In 2011, The Ministry of Culture, Govt. India had recognized ‘Anukriti’ as a Repertoire. Anukriti Rangmandal has left a distinguished impression in various Theatre workshops & Drama Festivals at the National level.
