In 1970 the Allis Chalmers plant in Springfield, Illinois started producing the HD 41, the largest crawler tractor in the world at that time, and the first crawler over 500 horsepower. Fiat bought controlling interest in AC in 1974 and that company became Fiat Allis. The 41 was upgraded over the years between 1970 to 1983. The last upgrade in 1983, the 41 became a FD50. The factory closed in 1985 and then demolished several years later. This slideshow was made with VideoStudio Pro X2.
