How I Bee-waxing Linen and Cotton thread | DIY Bookbinding

Описание к видео How I Bee-waxing Linen and Cotton thread | DIY Bookbinding

Here I will show you how I normally waxed my threads for bookbinding and crafting.

Note: You can use the thread right after when you finish waxing without putting some heat as I did.

Materials:
Thread (as you need) - https://amzn.to/352nFaU
Beeswax - https://amzn.to/3g6j662
Cotton waxed thread - https://amzn.to/3g3T5E6
A hair straightener, cheap one works well too (Optional) - https://amzn.to/3uZD9ad

Q: What is the hair straightener for?
A: It is for heating the beeswax. This process helps beeswax to be able to melt into the thread.

Q: Why do we heat up after waxed?
A: Because sometimes during the binding/ stitching process, the thread is rubbing with other thread, so beeswax may come off. However, it is not a big problem. That is why the hair straightener is just optional.

Thanks for watching!
