Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Excel Chart Axis Labels in Reverse Order
Welcome back to another episode of MrExcel's Learn Excel series. In today's video, we're going to tackle a common issue that many Excel users face - how to reverse the axis on a chart. This can be especially frustrating when working with large amounts of data and trying to analyze it effectively. But fear not, because I have a simple solution for you.
This question was sent in by Ewing, who was struggling with his pivot table and pivot chart. He noticed that the labels on his chart were in alphabetical order, while the labels on his pivot table were in the opposite order. And when he tried to sort the labels in reverse order, it didn't work as expected. This was driving him crazy, but luckily there is a simple fix for this issue.
To reverse the axis on a chart, all you need to do is right click on the left axis and select "Format axes". Then, under the "Axis Options" tab, you will see the option to reverse the categories. Simply check this box and your chart will now display the labels in the same order as your pivot table. This setting is available in both Excel 2016 and 2003, making it easy for users of all versions to solve this problem.

Create a bar chart from a pivot table. If you sort the pivot table into ascending sequence, the chart sorts into descending sequence. Episode 948 will show you the obscure solution to this problem.
