Checkra1n is here to Jailbreak iOS 13, but guess what! There's one more thing: a jailbreak for tvOS 13 - tvOS 13.2! The best part though is that this is also a permanent semi tethered jailbreak. That means that when new versions of tvOS 13 are released (like tvOS 13.2.1, tvOS 13.3, tvOS 13.4, etc), they'll also be jailbroken! How cool is that? Jailbreak your Apple TV 4 to install Kodi and other awesome tweaks for the lifetime of the device.

Regarding Apple TV 4K (5th generation) and Windows support, both are (probably) coming. As of now though, you cannot jailbreak the Apple TV 4K. The Apple TV 4K is powered an A10X CPU, which is susceptible to the checkm8 exploit used in checkra1n. However the problem is that it doesn't have USB-C I/O - i.e. there's no real way to connect it yet. This may change in the future, so stay tuned for updates. As for Windows, that may come once the Checkra1n for Windows iOS 13 jailbreak drops. Again, stay tuned.

-- --- --- --- How to Jailbreak tvOS 13 + Considerations -- --- --- ---

Before you begin, note that this is a semi tethered jailbreak. This means that to use your jailbreak stuff, you'll need to boot tethered with checkra1n any time you unplug and/or lose power. Not a big deal, since the Apple TV is rarely rebooted.

Step 1: Connect near your TV / destination via HDMI. Also connect to your Mac via USB-C, and connect power.

Step 2: Download, mount, and drag Checkra1n into Applications. Open Checkra1n and verify it in System Preferences.

Step 3: Once your Apple TV is connected, click "Start", followed by "Next".

Step 4: After the ATV4 enters recovery mode, follow the on-screen steps to enter DFU.

Step 5: That's it! After Checkra1n says "Done", disconnect from USB-C. On the Apple TV allow checkra1n RC1 installer to pop up (this may take a while) and let it do its thing. After it's finished, click done to respring.

Step 6: Enjoy your Apple TV 4 Jailbreak on tvOS 13!
