First ride after switching to a Hope Tech 3 V4 rear brake and Hope 203mm rotor. The high pitch squeal is a bit annoying but hopefully that goes with use - if it doesn't then I might try the other set of pads that came with the brakes.
I still need to test them on the really steep stuff but overall they are a definite improvement over the SRAM Guide R's they replaced.
The front brake feels terrible in comparison now so that might have to be the next upgrade.
