Miss Hawes is a first grade teacher in Aransas Pass, Texas. This year, her classroom did a writing project on the topic of perseverance. Over the last few years, these students truly learned what it means to persevere and to never give up. Each student contributed to the story as well as created their own alien character to be a part of it. After a successful fundraiser, Miss Hawes was able to bring each student's drawing to life with Budsies! On the last day of school before summer break, the kids were surprised with their custom plushies that they each individually designed. This is Ms. Hawes second year doing this project and she loves the lasting impact it has on her students.
