January 10, 1974-Jackpot! (NBC) (Lost Game Show TV Audio)

-Audio from a lost TV game show of the 1970s, the original "Jackpot!" hosted by Geoff Edwards which debuted on NBC on January 7, 1974 and ran for a year and a half. It also had a three year cable revival on USA in the mid-80s (hosted by Mike Darrow) and a short-lived syndication run in 1989-90 (again hosted by Edwards). Each week, 16 contestants participated with one as the "King of the Hill" trying to solve riddles to build up a cash jackpot. If he missed a riddle the contestant who had read the one that stumped him took over the spot with a chance to win the jackpot.

-This is audio from the fourth episode of the show's first week on the air with original commercials. Notice how the theme music for the original NBC version "Jet Set" was later the opening theme music for "This Week In Baseball" (which would play under the "Hello there everybody, this is Mel Allen" intro). Only one episode of the original NBC series from January 3, 1975 exists video-wise (when the show had its biggest cash giveaway).
