Day 5 in the Week of Chiptune Beans, and we have Season 5! I initially didn't care that much for this season's tracks, but they've definitely grown on me. It's a shame you never get to hear the latter half of DnB, as Stompin' Ground times out after 70 seconds. You almost never get to hear the latter half of Temple Tumble either, unless everyone, including yourself, is absolutely terrible. This was also the first season that I did not attempt to make covers for before this, for one simple reason: PERCUSSION. I was not prepared for the massive amount of unique drum sounds I needed for the tunes to actually feel fleshed out, so I just kinda gave up.

Not this time though! I already had a tom sample and some bongo sounds for a few of the Season 1 tracks, and Season 4's Falling Stars happened to have an instrument that, if it wasn't actually a timbale, it at least sounded close enough to one to work, and the timbale sample I used for that works reasonably well here too. I did have to faff with the sample's volume though, as you can't change the volume of samples during playback; you have to make that decision when you store it/import it, and I wanted to minimize how many different samples I used, within reason. Combine all that with the timpani from Season 2's tracks, and that's basically all I needed to get something reeeasonably close to the actual percussion parts.

Everybody Falls (From Trees) is definitely one of my weaker Everybody Falls covers, as some of the more complex percussion parts are simplified and the volume management isn't the best, but it's still okay. Rumbling Waterfall turned out alright as well. The timbale might be a liiittle loud, but I don't think it's loud enough to get annoying. It's kinda the best I could do. I'm pretty proud of DnB, even though I honestly can't pinpoint a reason as to why. It just- sounds good. And I am VERY pleased with how Temple Tumble turned out. Even though there was absolutely no room for me to add the sampled snare and kick drums like I did with the other Final themes, it definitely still has the energy and intensity that a Final theme needs. I'm not AS proud of these as I was with Season 4's tracks, but I'm still perfectly content with them.
