1150GS Part 13

What a shock when I realised the the handlebars moved up and down 4-5mm. How come I never noticed? But of course I had the bike delivered from Cornwall by van and only pushed it into my garage. It had passed the MOT 6 months ago with flying colours, I never even thought about there would be an issue. Then fitting the USB port on the handlebar I discovered the movement. So a new bearing has arrived from Motorworks (what would we do without them....well I suppose we would go to BMW....arghh.....). A miserable foggy Saturday afternoon, could I do it? At least I can service the forks, that will be next folks! IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE I THOUGHT THE STEERING HEAD BEARING BOLT WAS TIGHTENED TO 45NM....THAT IS THE FORK BOLTS....IT IS 130NM. I HAVE TAKEN MINE OUT, COATED WITH FRESH BLUE LOCTITE AND RETIGHTENED TO 130NM
