The first round of 1992 Petronas Malaysian Rally Championship was held in the stages of Selangor featuring Ross Dunkerton's Mitsubishi Galant VR4, Y.S. Khong's Toyota Celica GT-FOUR (ST165) and Greg Carr's first gen Proton Saga 4WD Turbo while Karamjit Singh is competing in his Proton Saga 4WD NA.

This highlight show was broadcasted on Malaysia's TV3 as part of long TV deals with Malaysia MotorSport Club (MMSC).
