BIO:

Devon was born and raised in Toronto. Raised within a socially active family and community and has been a lifelong volunteer. Her father was a politician and her mother a community worker. Devon has navigated through lived experiences of sexual abuse and assault, miscarriage, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, chronic pain, CPTSD and PTSD, among other traumas. She first began experiencing anxiety at the age of 9. She has navigated the Western Mental Health system for the last 30 years and began to find true healing through holistic modalities over the last 20 years. She began to delve deeper into holistic wellness after a workplace injury in 2011 and dove even deeper after a near fatal car accident in 2017.

She holds a Social Service Worker, diploma with honours, as well as numerous certificates and trainings in trauma informed care and approaches, among many others. Devon has worked in frontline youth and adult crisis, mental health, addictions, trauma, suicide intervention and a youth, Ministry funded, criminal diversion program. It was through her time as a front line worker that Devon first began to share holistic based mindfulness and self-regulation tools with clients. Seeing the impactful benefits in her client’s lives Devon felt inspired to further developed her knowledge as skills in holistic healing with a focus on trauma, energy healing trauma empowerment. She was first certified in the first two levels of Reiki energy healing in 2015, which began her holistic healing practice. Inspired by the challenges and growth from her healing journey, especially since the car accident, Devon created Emerald Topaz Healing, in 2017, to connect with others, who are doing the work to release the traumas they have experienced. She has created and facilitated empowerment and healing workshops for frontline organizations and community members to share her passion for empowered healing. She completed her master reiki energy healing in 2019. As well as became a certified Yoga instructor, that same year.

Devon has a deep personal and professional understanding of the personal and outward effects trauma can have in one’s life and relationships. She supports clients from a holistic approach that empowers choice and sovereignty of a client’s own unique healing journey. Devon draws on many different holistic, mindfulness, energetic and intuitive gifts and approaches to best serve her clients. She endeavors to help others find empowerment through their trauma and to take control over their healing journeys and lives.
