Despite his injuries, he dragged that officer to safety—before succumbing to his own wounds.

At just 30 years old, Duarte had served with multiple departments and was known for his fearless commitment to duty. His selfless actions that day are a reminder of the real risks our officers face—and the bravery they carry into every call.
