Watch my bus journey from Mumbai to Kolhapur by MSRTC Sleeper seater bus. This Tata MG built bus is maintained by Bus For Us Foundation and have named this Project as Utkarsh.

Bus for Us foundation is a Non-governmental organisation (NGO) formed for the betterment of public transport. Its members include people from various walks of life but a common interest i.e. MSRTC or public transport in general. Bus for Us foundation is the first NGO working to promote public transport. It came into existence in 2019 and in the last 2 years there have been a number of initiatives undertaken by them.
Utkarsh, a hospitality management initiative is one of them. Under this initiative, Bus for Us foundation has adopted 2 buses plying on the Kolhapur Mumbai Kolhapur route. Covid 19 showed us the importance of cleanliness and sanitation. On those grounds, Bus for Us foundation takes special care in the cleaning and sanitisation of these buses. Buses are cleaned by Bus for Us personnel at Kolhapur and Mumbai using strict protocols. With that all the promotion work about this route, booking on call, developing social media pages etc. has been done by the foundation. Along with that, there is one Bus for Us personnel with the bus at all time who is known as 'ST Mitra'. This person makes sure that passengers get help with their seats, luggage and any other assistance.
The Utkarsh initiative commenced on 26th January and will run for a period of 2 months till 25th March.
I had Tannay Dandekar from Bus For Us Foundation with me during the bus journey. You can catch this bus from Kolhapur or Mumbai, the departing time of this bus is 10 pm. The livery of this bus is also a bit better looking which mentions the amenities provided.
