Marcha Túpac Amaru - Peruvian Military March

Описание к видео Marcha Túpac Amaru - Peruvian Military March

This military march is named after & dedicated to the Native American, Túpac Amaru II. An individual descended from & named after the last Incan monarch (not the last monarch of the actual Incan Empire but, it's way too complicated to explain). Together with his wife, Micaela Bastidas (who in her own right is also considered a martyr), launched a large uprising against the Spanish in what is today Cusco, Peru in 1780. In 1783, Túpac was captured and killed by quartering. Before being killed, he quoted saying " I will return and I'll be millions". Acouple decades later, millions of people rebelled against the Spanish and founded the nation of Peru in 1821.

At the same time, another Native American in Bolivia would go by the name of "Túpac Amaru Katari" and would launch a revolt in Spanish Bolivia & would lay seige to La Paz (now Bolivia's capital) for 6 months. But that's a story for another time...

I've wanted to upload this video for a while, but I really didn't know how to approach it. But finally, I've got it out
