Hitting the like button really does make a difference. By doing so, YouTube shares it with other YouTube viewers who have similar interests as yours. The more likes, the more it's shared. The more a channels videos are shared, the more often other videos will be opened. The more videos that are opened the better chance of the channel gaining a subscriber.

It's a no brainer to know and understand that not every viewer is going to explore the other videos on a channel. Regardless, the more you think it through/do the math likes lead to subscriptions.
