Embark on an exhilarating 12 km hike from Gronja Briska to the summit of Mount Rumija, rising 1200 meters in elevation. Starting in the charming village of Gronja Briska, the trail winds through lush landscapes, offering glimpses of diverse flora and fauna.

The summit of Rumija is bordered on one side by Lake Skadar and on the other by the Adriatic Sea, specifically the town of Bar.
Although it's only 1,595 meters high, the elevation gain of 1,200 meters makes it a challenging climb. At the summit, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea, Lake Shkodra, the Albanian Alps, the Durmitor mountain range, and more.

These lands around Rumija were inhabited by the Illyrian tribe of Labeatae, who worshipped the Sun.
Once a year, from the early hours of the morning, the Labeatae would climb the slopes of Rumija to reach the summit. There, they prayed to the Sun for luck and prosperity. To ensure their prayers were answered, each believer would carry a stone to the top, so the mountain would "grow higher." Over centuries, they accumulated so many stones (today there are several hundred cubic meters at the summit) that Rumija indeed became a few meters taller.
