High functioning anxiety is a term used to describe people who experience anxiety, but are able to maintain an outward appearance of functioning normally. People with high functioning anxiety may be able to perform well in their personal and professional lives despite experiencing significant inner turmoil. People with high functioning anxiety may have a hard time relaxing and may feel a constant sense of worry or stress, but they are able to manage their anxiety and continue to meet their responsibilities.
