Although many "Internet Experts" spout vigerously that Pemican will go rancid after a few months to a year, this Pemican I am eating is just over 3 years old.
The process for lasting Pemican is simple but time consuming.
Very dry meat, ground into a meat powder. Store bought jerky may not work for longevity.
Very dry berries and nuts.
Salt, Nutmeg and sufficient tallow.
It has been stored for 3 years, the hardtack is also of the same vintage.
Hardtack is just a baked biscuit of flour and water and salt.
