Each season, Break Away's Active Citizen Speaker Series puts you in conversation with someone doing brilliant things in the world; it's like a TED Talk where you get to ask questions. And it's a livestream, so you can tune in from your computer.

In a time when heated debates and discussions about immigration policy and resettlement procedures for refugees are at the front of the news, David Lubell is leading the charge on actualizing what it means to be welcoming neighbors and individuals for new Americans. His organization, Welcoming America, has been partnering with America’s cities, counties, and other nonprofits to create welcoming communities for new Americans across the country. He has recently launched a campaign with the White House on its Building Welcoming Communities Campaign. Lubell has been recognized by President Obama as a Champion of Change, was named on the Chronicle of Philanthropy’s first-ever 40 Under 40 list, and was an Ashoka Fellow.
