Hadassah Lieberman, born in Prague to Holocaust survivors, is the wife of former US Senator Joe Lieberman, of Connecticut, the Democratic nominee for vice-president on a ticket with Al Gore in 2000. She has built a career devoted largely to public health that has included positions at Lehman Brothers, Pfizer, and the National Research Council. She holds a BA in government and dramatics from Boston University and a master’s degree in international relations and American government from Northeastern University.

In a conversation with Brandeis Trustee Lisa Kranc ’75, Lieberman offers insights into her life on the national political stage and into her identity as an immigrant, an American Jew, a working woman, and a wife, mother, and grandmother.
