Paul Parker ~ Right On Target 1982 Disco Purrfection Version

In 1982, Paul Parker injected some seriously needed testosterone to the Hi NRG genre that Patrick Cowley and Sylvester started with "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) in 1978. Parker's collaboration with Cowley resulted in a #1 Disco/Dance hit with "Right On Target", a harbinger to the direction that the best 80's club tunes would take. Parker's natural masculinity and porn stache cemented his popularity in the gay clubs with the cover photo of his "Too Much To Dream" LP. While his looks got him across, he really had the vocal chops to back it all up. A San Francisco native, he toured to support the album and he performed his own vocals over an instrumental recording of his music. He relates that his first gigs were troublesome affairs as the clubs speakers were not set up to for him to perform live and the fog machine vapor condensed on the stainless steel dance floors making it dangerously slippery for him. He still records and performs today, his black hair now a silvery white that matches his new beard. Still as trim and muscular as I remember him. Visit him at http://www.paulparkermusic.com/
