Dealing with escape behavior is tough!! Here are some great things to try.

Kids get really good at learning how to get out of doing a task they do not want to do. This is especially challenging if you are in a classroom with a group of students who are all at different levels or even grades, have different needs and abilities, and learn quickly from each other how to take control of the situation.

Dealing with behavior is never easy or quick. But, I have put together a detailed list of interventions that have actually worked for me in the classroom and at home. Some may surprise you; some are super simple to implement; and some may totally bomb.

But that is the way it is with behaviors. We need a good inventory of ideas to try, because it is very likely the first few we try don't work at all.
