"When I was four years old, my parents gave me a children's pedal car for the New Year. It was a Moskvich made in Moscow, at the AZLK plant in 1984. And then, when I grew up, I got it out of my father's garage and decided to restore it. I became interested in what other pedal cars there were in the era of the USSR and became a collector."

"I think that the most interesting exhibit is the ZIS car, which was made at the Stalin plant in Moscow. It is in completely authentic condition, it was not touched by the hand of the restorer, and it was preserved due to the fact that its pedal mechanism broke down and, apparently, it was not used."

"The car was made in the city of Kuibyshev in the 1970s. To date, I have seen this car only in photographs online, and many details during the restoration were copied from photographs, such as the bumper and the steering wheel."

"Every manufacturer, no matter what he considered himself - an engineer, an artist, or a production worker, tried to find some kind of childish theme. He had his own image of childhood, the image of the consumer, a child, and in various ways, he used some secret hiding places, some trunk, where it was important to hide an apple, a little bell, a little horn."

"In the Soviet Union, of course, at the end of the 1920s, these cars, these first cars, they were often distributed, not sold, to different teams, kindergartens, distributed to some kind of children's hearths. Moreover, they were ideologised, because there were runs of pedal cars from the Kremlin somewhere far away. It all worked for the image of the young country, because at that time, everything was used for this purpose - from large cars to small ones."
