Lake District Walks: Red Screes via Scandale

Описание к видео Lake District Walks: Red Screes via Scandale

Visitors to the Lake District will know Red Screes, the mountain that stands on the western side of Kirkstone Pass. Kirkstone is not the only Lake District mountain pass to cross from Patterdale to Ambleside. Scandale Pass also crosses the fell, passing to the west of Red Screes. But whilst Kirkstone Pass is a busy modern route, the highest motorised Lakeland pass, Scandale is merely the preserve of fellwalkers. This walk reveals the reason why Kirkstone Pass thrived, and Scandale Pass fell into decline. It is a wonderful walk from Ambleside, up to Scandale Pass and on to the summit of Red Screes, where there are Lake District mountain views in every direction.
