Ten years ago today, we visited the world-famous Mojave Phone Booth. We camped overnight and answered hundreds of calls from all over the world. It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. This is a rough edit; I am just starting to learn how to use a new video package.

The Booth was made famous by one Deuce of Clubs, and between late 1997 and May 2000, it was called by people from all over the world - just to see if someone would answer!

Sadly, the Booth is no longer with us, thanks to the National Park Service, which, in direct violation of its own Historical Sites Act of 1935, ordered the booth removed in 2000. Thankfully, the booth's #1 enemy, Superintendent Mary Martin, is no longer in charge of the Mojave National Preserve. Sadly, though, the damage is done and the Booth will live on only in memories, photos and videos.
