This 1937 Bugatti Atalante Type 57S, Surbaisse version, with a Gangloff body was shown at the 2023 Boca Concours d'Elegance. It won two awards: Best of Show Automobile and the Timeless Elegance Award. This classic car was inspired by the 1935 Bugatti Aerolithe, made with a magnesium body. It has an inline, 8 cylinder engine with 3277CC DOHC, and a dealer added supercharger which gave it 200hp. It has a four-speed manual gearbox and 4 wheel cable operated mechanical drum brakes. Only 17 of the Type 57 Bugattis were built and one was lost in an accident. Built for speed with left-hand drive to race on European clockwise tracks, the Type 57 has been described as the world's first supercar. This particular car is owned by the Rare Wheels Collection in Windemere, Florida, and is represented by Tom Hill. It is truly a rare and elegant work of art, speed, and craftsmanship in a timeless supercar.
