MX5400 Maiden Voyage With Counterweight and Pine Log

Today we use the MX5400 for the first time on a serious task, loading a fair size 11' Loblolly pine log to the sawmill. At this point I still had no grapple, so a set of skid steer forks are used on the SSQA loader. It's slow going because of the unfamiliarity of the new machine combined with the use of the set of forks on something other than the skidloader. No matter though, we manage to get it securely on the bunks with no damage to man or machine.
The Missus comes out to give her take on the situation and gets the chance to give a slight comment or two about the newly completed forklift counterweight. We don't manage to get the first portion of squaring the cant due to operator error with the camera. Yes, once again I prove that failure as a cameraman is an easy thing to sustain...as shown by the abrupt end to the video. No matter the next one will pick up where this one leaves off and the Missus will get the chance to do a lot of the sawing. #tractor, #diy, #kubota
