Use of Paddy Transplanter for Rice seedlings transplant

The Paddy Transpanter is used for transplanting mat type paddy seedlings in the main field. It is suitable for all types of paddy varieties grown by transplanting. Both manually operated and mechanically operated transplanters are available.

Establishment of Modified Mat Nursery (Dapog Method)

First we should prepare one selected plot, removed all weeds and burned the soil by layering paddy straw.
Plough and harrowed well
After that, put the polythene sheet on the well leveled mud surface. that polythene sheet length is 30m and 1m width.(need 30m x 1m polythene sheet per acre )
Then, put very fine mud on the surface of the polythene sheet as 2cm thickness.

After that, sow the pre-germinated seeds on the top of the mud layer at rate of 1kg per square meter of nursery

Finally ,cover the nursery with polythene bags (coconut leaves and banana leaves can be used) for protect from damage and waste sun drying and rain

After 03 days from sowing, remove bags . irrigated seed bed continuously by flower bucket. apply for 06 days old seedlings at the rate of 01 table spoon of urea for 1sq.meter area of nursery as a liquid form. mixed 01 table spoon of urea with 10 liter of water.

Field planting
Plough the filed 20-25 cm deep using a mould board plough to expose the eggs of harmful insects, pests and rhizomes of weeds. keep the field flooded with water. After two ,three days, puddle the soil using a puddler three times with standing water and complete a week ahead of transplanting.
Puddle the field well before transplanting and allow for two days for consideration of soil so that the machine can work out sinkage.
After that remove the polythene sheet and cut the nursery like rectangular pieces, according to the machine’s requirements.
Finally run the machine and transplant the seedlings in the field.
