Norton AFB Air Show 1986

Описание к видео Norton AFB Air Show 1986

My first assignment as video documentation project officer was the 1986 Norton Air Force Base Air Show at my home base in San Bernardino, CA. We had fly-bys of our local C-141B Starlifters, our Combat Controllers did static line and freefall jumps, and visiting British aircraft joined a bunch of interesting and unusual USAF birds. The show highlights were the Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team down from Nellis AFB, but what generated the most awe was probably the world's fastest airplane, the SR-71 Blackbird, visiting from either Beale or Palmdale. I believe that the SR71 and crew shown here is the same that flew the last SR71's record-breaking flight across the US less than five years later. LTC Raymond Yeilding and LTC J.T. Vida set four NAA and three FAI speed records with Blackbird 61-7972 on March 6, 1990.
