Wahhabism is a conservative movement within Islam's Sunni branch.

It's named after its founder, theologian Mohamed ibn Abdul Wahhab, who was born in the 18th century in Saudi Arabia.
In India the wahabi Movement offered the most serious and well-planned challenge to British supremacy in India from 1830's to 1860's.
Saiyid Ahmad of Rai Bareilly was founder of Wahabi Movement in India.
