IKEA HACK: DIY BANQUETTE SEATING | BUILDING CUSTOM BANQUETTE SEATING USING THE IKEA KALLAX

This video is all about how I created custom banquette seating in my dining area by hacking the IKEA KALLAX shelf unit. As always, my first step in any IKEA hack was watching a series of "how to" videos. Although I haven't mastered upholstery, @cyberseams and @meetthemakers7128 have. I watched both of their videos (linked below) to help me figure out some basics. Keep in mind, this is a video on how to create banquette seating, not a master class on upholstery. Your girl struggled all the way through, but I couldn't be happier with the end result. One thing I would do differently next time, when using patterned fabric, is to ensure the design is going the same way on each panel. But I was short on fabric and had to cut some corners (literally) and the fabric on a few of my panels is cut in a different direction so that I could make use of every inch of fabric. Overall this was a simple project. It is tedious work, but pretty easy once you get going. As always, let me know if you have any questions in the comments!

1x6s (measure the space in feet then divide by 2 to determine how many you need I bought 2 extra just in case)
