The title track of her posthumous album was written during the last and most challenging chapter of her life. Battling a re-diagnosis of cancer, grappling with a painful divorce, and facing a mere 2% chance of survival, Jane’s unwavering spirit shines through in the words, “I’m pretty beat up, but I’ve still got dreams.” This phrase encapsulates her determination to continue fighting for the idea that hope always prevails, a pursuit that led her to perform on America’s Got Talent (AGT) with an original song that touched millions.

The collaboration with the Mzansi Youth Choir adds a transcendent layer to Still Got Dreams*. After covering her song *It’s Okay on social media and receiving Jane’s enthusiastic praise, the choir later brought her music to the AGT stage, earning their own Golden Buzzer and finishing in the top 2 of Season 18. Nightbirde’s team, along with her producer, Geoff Duncan, loved the idea of bringing the Mzansi Youth Choir to be apart of this track. Drawing inspiration from Jane’s love for Coldplay, the choir was invited to contribute a stirring emotional build-up with musical director Sidumo Nyamezele enthusiastically leading the production of their vocals. The choir’s performance includes heartfelt lyrics in isiZulu: We ngoma ngiyakholwa Kuwe usisibonelo, which translates to, “I believe music is a wonderful gift.”

All proceeds from Nightbirde’s music, art, books, merchandise, and licensing fund the Nightbirde Foundation, dedicated to supporting women battling breast cancer through hope and healing.
