Thanks for clicking subscribe and notifications. The year 1988, Visalia, California. An unknown skater named Tom Knox went out for one day (!) with Tony Roberts, filmer for Santa Cruz Speed Wheels/NHS and unleashed his freakish repertoire on a variety of curbs, ledges, walls, flat ground and even rips a backyard pool. His non-stop, machine like determination mixed with an incredible style and fluidity made him one of the all time skateboarding greats, and a street skating innovator of the highest degree. After this video part came out he scored covers on Thrasher, Transworld, and won pro contests worldwide! A lot of NBDs went down this day and in this never before seen footage of the raw camera tapes, we get to witness Tom's process, and TR's filming/coaching style that not only provoked many of these tricks to be landed for the first time, but inventing camera angles and techniques that would later become standard in all skate videos.
Watching this footage for the first time in 33 years I was surprised by so many things. After watching this please comment below on what surprised you!
