Mushroom Bed Making Process ( Oyster mushroom or chippy coon)
We have to use paddy straw of 3 months to one year old. Better to cut it in two or three inches sized pieces. we can disinfect by steaming it for one and a half hour(organic method) or soak it in water mixed with a fungicide and bleaching powder for 24 hours. For 10 kg paddy straw, 100 litres of water mixed with 8 grams of fungicide(mega 45 or Bavestin) and 10 grams of good bleaching powder. Drain out and make it 50% moistured straw by drying. The prepared straw is filled in 4 inch thickness layer in the pp cover of 12 inch by 24 inch size. Five such layers could be made and in each layerside is sowed with 30 grams spawn. We can make 10(Ten) beds out of 10 kg. Keep it in the farm awaiting mycelium formation and fruiting.

Instead of paddy straw we can use Fresh Rubber saw dust as medium. Then the cover size could be 13 inch by 18 inch instead of 12 inch by 24 inch. We have to use 2kg saw dust per bed.
