This is a playthrough of The Legend of Zelda for the NES (timestamps below).

After years of being aware of the Zelda series but having barely any actual experience with it I figured I may as well put the time into finishing the first game for myself.

This game's incredibly open and your mileage may vary as to whether this is a positive or negative; personally I can appreciate what they were going for, but the way in-game hints are vague to the point where they may as well not exist and it being designed in a way you essentially need a guide on your first playthrough hampers my enjoyment on the whole.

There are some minor redundant stops here and there in this run (picking up bonus rupees when my counter's maxed out, collecting extra keys I don't need etc.), but I figured since I had the guide open in front of me anyway I may as well show off where things are.
