Ayr Level Crossing

Описание к видео Ayr Level Crossing

Saturday August 12 2017 at 12.26. The 11.34 Glasgow Central to Ayr(12.35) train 43 miles south-west of Glasgow. The lowering gate spike would certainly stab someone thoroughly. This is the only level crossing in Ayr but NR call it Belmont LC (the road name) even though there is a Belmont LC in Yorkshire. The line from Ayr northwards to Glasgow is electrified but the remaining 59 miles southwards isn't. Nor is the 11 mile branch to Kilmarnock with Gatehead LC on it. Consequently the train service is distorted with passengers travelling from Glasgow having to change trains at Ayr. Passengers from Kilmarnock are already in diesel trains so they don't have that problem. Around 50,000 people live in Ayr and over 2,100 catch a train from here on an average day.
