YouTube Shorts is a feature on YouTube that allows creators to upload short vertical videos of up to 60 seconds in length. These videos are designed to be easily discoverable and displayed on the Shorts shelf of the YouTube app, making them perfect for quick and engaging content.

Regarding monetization, as of my last update in September 2021, YouTube Shorts monetization was available through the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). Creators who meet the eligibility criteria for the YPP can earn money from their Shorts through ads, channel memberships, and Super Chat.
