In a first-of-its-kind conference and interactive workshop, the Lynch School of Education hosted scholars from a range of disciplines to discuss strategies for measuring the impact of undergraduate education, especially liberal arts education, on students' personal growth. Eventually, this could lead to a measurement instrument to replace standardized testing and to a broader understanding that cultivating thinking, feeling students have a larger role to play in the world. The conference was funded by a grant from the Spencer Foundation.
