The book of Exodus chronicles Israel's deliverance from Egyptian bondage. Moses begins with his birth and upbringing in Pharaoh's house. When he was 40 years old he left Egypt as a murderer. He then found himself in Midian where he was married. Another 40 years passed and God called him from a burning bush and charged him to demand the new Pharaoh to free the Israelites from slavery. After 10 plagues which showed the superiority of God over paganism Pharaoh let them leave. Then he regretted it and pursued after them. He met up with them at the Red Sea. God divide the waters. The Israelites traveled across on the exposed sea floor. Then the Egyptian army followed. After Israel made it across safely God caused the water to crush the Egyptians. They drowned in the sea.

Afterwards, God spoke with Moses on Mt. Sinai and gave him a law for his chosen people including the 10 commandments. The people rejected God and 3,000 men died in one day. Israel repented. The remainder of the book discusses the construction of the tabernacle the consecration of the priests.

The conversations between Moses and God are revealing. Their love for the people and each other shines through these chapters. God becomes angry with Israel and wants to destroy them. Moses intervenes on their behalf and saves them from destruction. Chapters 32-34 show these details and how sin affects God. It does so profoundly. Moses plead with God on the people's behalf four times. They are found in the book of Numbers. We will upload Numbers by the end of March if not before.
