Canary Islands BEST Food & Shopping 🇮🇨 Lanzarote: Teguise & Lagomar

Come with us to Lanzarote's food and shopping hotspot, Teguise! Here we explore the island's largest market and some local shops before stopping for a delicious lunch. We then wander around César Manrique's Lagomar Museo and then head back to the wonderful Playa Flamingo in Playa Blanca for a swim and sunset.

Google Maps took us up and over a nearby mountain to get from Playa Blanca to Teguise, which Hannah was not all too excited about but drove masterfully. We got to Teguise in time for the market (the largest on Lanzarote) and Hannah managed to get herself a range of jewellery, a bag and check out a whole host of other bits.

We quickly nipped into a shop we'd seen on the walk to the Sunday market and bought ourselves matching t-shirts with a design of the island. Then it was time for a tasty tapas lunch from Cantina, where we had oyster mushroom croquettes with truffle mayo, fried potatoes with cheese and truffle and grilled Lanzarote cheese with Canarian potatoes topped with mojo verde - YUM.

After lunch we drove five minutes to Lagomar Museum (or Museo LagOmar), Omar Sharif's house which, according to local legend, he infamously lost just days after purchasing it in a game of cards. Wander with us around the mansion that's built into the rockface with gorgeous water features, interesting art and glorious views.

After our time wandering around Omar Sharif's house, we made our way back to Playa Blanca, where I managed to convince Han to swim in the sea with me and then we caught another lovely sunset.
