Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles - Full Instrumental Recreation (4K)

Turn off your mind, relax. Float downstream.

Lovely advice. And a hell of an interesting song! Ringo's hypnotic beat, unseen anywhere else, complimented by Paul's pulsating bass. Almost seems like prototypical rave music.

This was SO MUCH FUN. If only because the playing was pretty simple, but I had to enliven to mix to hold your interest(s). I really love panning and editing across the aural landscape. This was such a fun sandbox.

And yes, I stole the tape loops from the originals. Some parts can't be recreated with justice; you just need to go to the source.

Finally, that backwards guitar solo was a hell of a thing to learn. I slowed down all 4 segments, reversed them, slowed them down, and eventually arrived at the right sound.

Oh, and that outro piano is so odd. I caved and bought the Abbey Road "Ms. Mills" piano VST, which will come in handy again on "With a Little Help" and "Rocky Raccoon." I absolutely didn't bother with a note-for-note on the piano part, just went for the right spirit.

Enjoy! My vacation is coming to a close, so I hope you've enjoyed my productivity of late!
