As a new beekeeper going into my second year, I’ve noticed more and more people getting into beekeeping — and while that’s exciting, it’s also something that deserves a little reflection. Beekeeping is rewarding, but it’s also a serious responsibility.

In this video, I’m sharing some thoughts that have been on my heart about what it really means to take care of bees, why education is so important before you start, and how we can better prepare ourselves (and help others do the same).

I’m not here to shame anyone — my goal is to encourage new beekeepers to take ownership of their learning, do their research, and set themselves and their bees up for success.
