In 2020 the celebration of the winning entries for the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Writing, including the prestigious Alan Marshall Short Story Award, goes on-line with an event featuring readings from winning pieces and a performance by writing and musical collaboration ‘Illuminous’.

The Prize, which now occurs every two years (alternating with the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Art) is an important and valued vehicle for supporting new Australian writing.

Awards this year include prizes for Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction in Youth, Local and Open categories.

The exceptional quality of winning pieces is captured in the extracts read during the launch by actor, Dennis Coard and in the Anthology launched as part of the event.
