Both the House and Senate pushed forward a bill Tuesday requiring the Justice Department to release files related to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This now advances legislation that President Donald Trump and Republican leaders had once sought to block.

We are hearing from Minority Leader of the United States Senate, Chuck Schumer, after Congress approved a bill forcing the Justice Department to release files related to Jeffery Epstein. This comes after months of resistance from Trump and other GOP leaders. Early reports indicate the measure will allow limited redactions for victims or active investigations, but not for political or reputational reasons. Sen. Schumer spoke to reporters after he addressed the Senate on the floor just moments before.

President Trump is also offering more information on his plan to issue $2,000 tariff dividend checks to some Americans. Earlier this month, Trump touted the successes he said his administration has seen after implementing his tariffs, and said that "A dividend of at least $2,000 a person (not including high income people!) would be paid to everyone."
